Confirmation ride reminder details

                                                      6th-8th grade parents-

I have received some questions asking for clarification about the ride and schedule for Thursdays. Transportation is provided to confirmation class directly after school. The church van will be picking up any kid who wants a ride from Jefferson right after school. The van will be in the parent pickup line until 2:50. At 2:50 it will leave and head to Northeast. Please make sure to tell your student to get to the bus by then. It will enter the bus lane after all the buses have left to pick up any students at northeast around 3:00. Please make sure your students are looking for the bus if they are going to get a ride and please send them with a signed parent permission form found here
http://www.tlcmidland.org/index.php/ministry/youth-ministry/important-formsThe bus drops off all the kids at Hang Time at the youth center. They stay there until 4:00, when I walk them across the street to class.

Confirmation class will start at its normal time of 4:00 and continues until 5:15. At 5:15 you have the option of picking up or child or letting them participate in Trinity Teens. I provide dinner and snacks for everyone. Trinity Teens runs until 7:00 pm. All middle school students are more then welcome  to hang out for Trinity Teens youth group.
NOTE: Trinity Teens from 5:15-7:00 pm is only on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. Every other Thursday, pickup is at 5:15.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks

Important Hang Time, Confirmation and Trinity Teen Details

Hello!

The school year is starting back up, so it is time to hang out for Trinity Teens!
(Also, starting confirmation class and Hang Time...I will get to those in a minute)

For those of you who aren't aware, Trinity Teens is the youth group that we run for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. We do all sorts of fun activities and games. I will send out details about each event as they come closer. This year, we will be having Trinity Teens on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 5:30-7:00 (directly after confirmation). I think this should make logistics a little easier for everyone, because students can just attend straight from class and parents don't need to make an extra trip to church. I will make sure to provide dinner and snacks every time we have Trinity Teens as well. If they are busy or have too much homework, feel free to just pick up your child after confirmation at 5:15.

This Thursday, September 17th, we are having the Trinity Teens kickoff! I will have games, prizes, there will be a gaga tournament and maybe one or two water balloons (so you may want to bring some clothes that can get wet...) All 6th, 7th and 8th graders are welcome to attend our kickoff party! The party will be right after confirmation class ends.
REMINDER: Only 7th and 8th graders have Thursday confirmation class in September. All 6th graders can attend the party, but come to the church at 5:30

In addition to Trinity Teens starting back up, we are going to hanging out for hang time on Thursdays too! Hang time is when all the confirmation students gather at the youth center to hang out for the hour after school and before confirmation class. I provide drinks and snacks. There is also a ride provided from Northeast and Jefferson Middle Schools to the youth center. The Trinity Church van (white, 15 passenger, says "Trinity Lutheran" on the side) will pick up kids at Jefferson, right after school in the parent pick up lot, and at Northeast in the bus lane after all the buses have left. If you child would like to get a ride, I need a parent permission form filled out. They are at this link
Please send one with your child on Thursday
(just 7th and 8th graders this time).

Also, I am looking for parents to help me out with hang time. All you would have to do is agree to be at the youth center from 3-4 to keep an eye on the kids. I am all set this Thursday, but need help the rest of the semester. If everyone who reads this email helps once, we would have enough helpers for the whole year. Let me know if you have a date in mind that you can help me out. I can't put on youth activities without your help :)

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks everyone!

Senior Graduation Lunch and Community Baccalaureate

Hello High School Seniors and Parents

Graduation is almost upon us! I realize that this is a crazy and hectic time of life, but I would like to invite you all to a few events that are being put on in your honor. Please take a few seconds and read about the events coming up.

The first event is our annual Trinity graduation lunch. You all should have received an invite in the mail. If not, consider this your invite :)

(Pleas RSVP to the church office)

The second event is a
Community Baccalaureate Service:

Purpose/Goal:  to offer a ceremony for 2015 Graduates and their families where God is recognized, worshiped and honored in the overall experience of graduation.

I love how Isaiah 26:12 (Lord, you establish peace for us;
all that we have accomplished you have done for us.) and Jesus' statement in John 3:21 (But those who live by the truth come into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.) give a foundation for Baccalaureate!
The accomplishment of graduation is something God has done!

The Community Baccalaureate service is another venture where we can come together to honor God and his work! Several youth groups and churches are working together to put on this event!

Community Baccalaureate Service Date:
TUESDAY, May 26, 2015 @ 7 PM

Location: Grace A. Dow Library Auditorium

Program will include special music, speakers, prayer, (and a light refreshment)

Please let me know if you are planning to attend either of these events or have any questions. Thanks for your time!
